Key Responsibilities

  1. Keep regularly scheduled hours as agreed upon in the Service Agreement and actively see patients in the Clinic.
  2. Work with medical schools and residency training programs in their participation in Clinic activities .
  3. Develop method for assessment of the quality of services provided by clinical services with particular emphasis on medical.
  4. Support clinical care during regular Clinic hours and after hours should assistance be required .
  5. Assist in review and development of patient educational material before release to patients .
  6. Provide supervision of health care students of any discipline assigned to the Clinic for educational purposes .
  7. Participate in planning for future clinical operations, with emphasis on interdisciplinary team-oriented care .
  8. Develop and maintain a program for clinical quality assurance .
  9. Develop and maintenance of Clinical diagnostic and treatment protocols .
  10. Participation in the recruitment and retention of providers and other clinical staff .
  11. Participation in research
  12. Attend regularly scheduled service line meetings .
  13. Provide supervision of mid-level providers and mentor students .
  14. Provide knowledge , basic techniques, and patient recruitment for research projects when available .
  15. Assist in performing data analyses, interpretation and publishing of any research projects.
  16. Participate in the Performance Improvement Program
  17. Interview and advise patients regarding health and illness prevention , including FQHC-required voluntary family planning services and related preventative health services in compliance with funding requirements and state and federal laws, rules and regulations.
  18. Perform other duties as assigned.


EDUCATION & TRAINING REQUIREMENTS:

  • Must be licensed in Texas as an MD or DO
  • Must be Board Certified/Eligible in Endocrinology
  • Must have active DEA
  • Provider shall obtain, maintain and participate in the Medicare and Medicaid Programs , workers ' compensation, other federal and state reimbursement programs, and the payment plan of any commercial insurer , health maintenance organization, preferred provider organization , accountable health plan , and other health benefit program requested by Legacy .

    BLS (CPR & AED) Certified Medical Doctor with current licensure .
  • Ability to meet Legacy Community Health’s EPIC proficiency requirements.

WORK EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • At least 2 years of experience working in endocrinology , preferred

  • Previous experience in a hospital and/or clinic setting
  • Bilingual English/Spanish preferred
  • Must be proficient with all aspects of EMR
