Registered Nurse, Cardiac Cath Lab

Job Summary: Now hiring a full time RN to join the dedicated Cath Lab team at Shore Regional Hospital. The Cardiac Cath Lab is a 24/7 operation and performs dozens lifesaving of procedures each day. Candidates with prior work experience in ER or Critical Care adapt very well to this work environment.
This role is considered the minimum role for all nurses who have greater than 2 years of critical care experience or 12 months of Cath Lab experience. Provides and coordinates independent care to patients within a clinical specialty as a fully effective and participative member of the multidisciplinary patient care services team. Utilizes the institution's care delivery and professional practice models as the frame of reference for practicing as a professional nurse. Participates in activities to develop own practice, and to support group practice goals at the unit level. Is accountable to patient, family and team members for care provided and to the nurse manager for totality of work performance. Is accountable to hold to the Service Standards and to the Nursing Mission, Vision and Values.
Competency in care of unit specific patient population; Serves as a clinical resource for others.
~Functions effectively in roles specific to unit, such as arrest team for ICU, triage for ED, etc.
~Collaborates with interdisciplinary team to plan and coordinate care; Models practice consistent with unit operations to ensure safe, timely effective, efficient, equitable, patient centered care.
Responsible for maintaining competencies required for that patient care setting; Attends unit based staff development independently.
~ Demonstrates the ability to serve as a trained preceptor and coach's new nurse and students.
~ Contributes to developing/evaluating unit based orientation and other education activities.
~ Contributes to nursing support personnel skills and development.
~ Completes CE's on an annual basis based on facility minimum requirements.
Service/Quality:
~Understands and contributes to unit-based outcomes associated with National Hospital Quality Measures (NDNQI), Nursing Sensitive Quality Indicators, and Facility Annual Operational Plan
~Provides high quality, safe, patient centered care with focus on exceeding service expectations.
~ Accountable for compliance with regulatory requirements and holds others accountable; Takes action to correct observed risks to patient safety.
~ Implements policies, procedures, and guidelines consistently in the performance of assigned duties.
~ Identifies possible risks in processes, procedures, devices and communicates the same to those in charge.
~ Participates in hospital, departmental and/or unit patient safety initiatives.
Operations:
~ Demonstrates the ability to function in the charge nurse role.
~ Participates in teambuilding efforts on their unit.
~ Contributes and participates in unit, Nursing Division, and organizational governance structure.
~ Participates in recruitment and retention activities at the unit level.
~ Provides direct performance feedback at the direction of the nurse manager.

Currently Licensed as a Registered Nurse in the state of Maryland or compact license.
~1-3 years' experience as a Registered Nurse in Cardiac Cath Lab or Critical care preferred (or similar specialty ICU/ED/Telemetry/PCU/CCU). More than 12 months of nursing experience.
