Medical Surgical / Telemetry Unit - Travel Registered Nurse - $2200 per week.

Shift: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM

Experience:

• 2 years of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.

• 2 years of Medical Surgical / Telemetry Unit experience with 12 months within the last 36 months (3 years).

• Experience with Epic is preferred.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a West Virginia license or compact license (required after submission).

• This role may require floating to additional units and locations

• Travel only, local not allowed. Candidates must live >50 miles from facility to be submitted.

• COVID vaccination required after submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.

• 24 months gap required between for Staff at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - WVU Medicine and no current placement allowed at Program: Medical Solutions Plus Program - WVU Medicine.

Additional Details:

Required Skills/Experience: Must be able to titrate drips. Must be able to read and interpret telemetry strips.

Unit Details: Cardiac/telemetry patient population includes cardiac patients, CR bands, post-cath, AMI, post-op lung surgeries after transfer out of CCU, respiratory failure, chest tubes, pacemakers, and post-PCI patients. Occasional titratable cardiac drips: Cardizem, Amiodarone, Dobutamine, Dopamine, Integrelin, Heparin, Ativan, Lasix, and Nitro up to 50 mcg. Travelers will not pull sheaths and there are no arterial lines. CPAP and BiPap only; RT manages. Uses Phillips monitors. Charge nurse available 24/7; days do not take patient assignments, nights do take patient assignments. CNAs/PCTs on unit; ideally 1 CNA per 12 patients, usually 3 on days and 2 on nights.

Shift & Scheduling: Every other weekend; Saturday/Sunday for nights. Work in the holiday rotation schedule with permanent staff.

Floating Requirements: Float to any MedSurg/Tele unit.

Special Requests: Artificial nails are not allowed for travelers. Failure to adhere could result in being sent home and/or terminated if policy is not followed. If the candidate worked at a permanent facility in the last 12 months, 1 reference must be from that permanent facility. Cumulative experience applies for previous travelers. At least one reference must be from the same unit/specialty as the job being applied to.

14 days maximum time off

1 Charge/Lead/Supervisor reference required from within the last 2 years
