The Opportunity
You will lead a GPQSS Segment Unit in North America with responsibility for operational performance, customer satisfaction, and execution of the segment strategy. The role oversees tendering activities, project execution, team development, financial performance, and implementation of regional priorities aligned with broader business goals. You will ensure operations are appropriately organized and resourced, monitor performance against established targets, and implement actions that support productivity, cost optimization, and continuous improvement. This position requires addressing complex business challenges, guiding cross-functional teams, managing budgets, tracking key performance indicators, and influencing stakeholders across the organization. You will also build and maintain customer relationships while supporting efficient, high-quality operations that meet safety, regulatory, and ethical requirements and contribute to the reliability and advancement of power infrastructure.
How You’ll Make an Impact
- Oversee tendering activities and ensure the organization is appropriately structured, staffed, and equipped to meet operational requirements.
- Deliver operational and project targets that support customer satisfaction, productivity, and cost optimization.
- Monitor performance against established targets and establish improvement actions where needed.
- Lead and develop teams while fostering excellence and continuous improvement.
- Implement and execute segment strategies aligned with broader business priorities and regional requirements.
- Oversee the short- to mid-term execution of functional strategy and operational direction for the segment unit.
- Build and maintain customer relationships and support high levels of customer satisfaction.
- Oversee daily operations to ensure quality, efficiency, safety, regulatory compliance, ethical conduct, and financial performance.
- Manage budgets and monitor key performance indicators to support profitable operations and identify opportunities for improvement.
- Address complex business challenges requiring extensive investigation and evaluation.
- Communicate with and influence stakeholders, including executive leadership, to support the implementation of practices and approaches.
- Responsible to ensure compliance with applicable external and internal regulations, procedures, and guidelines.
Your Background
- Candidate must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for Hitachi Energy in the United States.
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or a related field.
- Senior leadership experience with proven success in driving growth and meeting financial targets.
- Experience in the energy sector and familiarity with matrix organizations.
- Leadership, team management, strategic thinking, communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
- Familiarity with Hitachi Energy’s products and systems is preferred.
- Willingness to travel within the region.
