Independent Automotive Repair Shop

Location: Boulder, CO
Schedule: Monday–Friday | 7:30 AM–5:00 PM | Occasional Saturdays may be required
Pay Rate: $40–$50/hour

About the Shop

This established independent repair shop is seeking an experienced Automotive Diagnostic Technician in Boulder, CO.

You'll work in a 12-bay facility servicing primarily Domestic and Asian vehicles. Approximately 70% of your work will focus on diagnostics and advanced repairs, with the remaining 30% consisting of maintenance services that support shop workflow.

The shop services fewer than 25 vehicles per day with an Average Repair Order (ARO) of $500–$800. Although technicians are paid hourly, they typically produce 40–50 flagged hours per week, reflecting the shop's consistent workload.

Key Responsibilities

  • Diagnose drivability, electrical, and mechanical concerns
  • Perform advanced diagnostics and complex mechanical repairs
  • Troubleshoot and repair automotive electrical systems
  • Repair steering, suspension, cooling systems, and other major mechanical components
  • Complete Digital Vehicle Inspections (DVI) using Tekmetric
  • Perform maintenance services as needed
  • Diagnose and repair primarily Domestic and Asian vehicles

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of professional automotive technician experience
  • Strong diagnostic and electrical troubleshooting skills
  • Experience performing complex mechanical repairs
