As an Assistant Supervisor in our Chemistry department, you'll play a key role in supporting laboratory operations, developing team members, driving quality initiatives, and helping ensure the delivery of accurate, timely results that directly impact patient care.

This full-time opportunity is on third shift.
In this role, you will:
Assist in overseeing daily Chemistry laboratory operations to ensure quality, efficiency, and the accurate and timely delivery of patient results.
Partner with the Supervisor to support departmental goals, workflow management, staffing coordination, and employee development.
Serve as a technical resource by assisting with troubleshooting instrumentation, quality control issues, and testing-related challenges.
Perform and oversee moderate and high complexity testing in accordance with established procedures and regulatory requirements.
Analyze, review, and report testing results accurately and efficiently.
Identify opportunities for process improvement and assist with implementing corrective and preventive actions.
Participate in the training, mentoring, and competency assessment of laboratory personnel.
Monitor compliance with safety, quality, accreditation, and regulatory standards.
Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous improvement within the department.
Work in a fast-paced laboratory environment with biological and chemical hazards.
All you need is:
Bachelor of Science degree in Medical Technology; or Bachelor of Science in Chemical, Biological, or Physical Science with 1 year of Medical Technology training.
ASCP certification (MLS/MT) or equivalent certification required.
Minimum 3 years of clinical laboratory experience performing moderate and high complexity testing, including experience in a Chemistry laboratory environment.
Demonstrated knowledge of laboratory quality control, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance requirements.
Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and analytical skills.
Ability to operate general laboratory equipment, including but not limited to telephones, computers, automated analyzers, centrifuges, microscopes, manual and automated pipettes, and audible alarms.
Bonus points if you've got:
Previous lead technologist, senior technologist, trainer, or supervisory experience.
5+ years of clinical laboratory experience, including Chemistry testing.
Experience with employee training, competency assessment, and staff development.
Working knowledge of CAP, CLIA, and laboratory accreditation requirements.
Experience leading process improvement or quality initiatives.
