What this job involves
JLL is currently seeking a dynamic Senior Project Manager who can provide reliable, timely, and professional support, and assist with the day-to-day project management activities. The position entails working with a group of internal and external Stakeholders at all levels of the organization. The successful candidate will require the independent judgment to plan, prioritize, and organize a diverse workload. The Senior Project Manager will be responsible for delivering working with the client to define the scope and delivering a high quality project on time and within budget.
What is your day to day?
Support project executives on multiple projects and assignments.
Develop scope and schedule for assigned projects.
Identify and address areas of concern regarding potential risk surrounding project, project logistical issues, budget, and scope.
Develop the project execution plan
Identify and work with procurement to contract engineering and construction services from third parties
Coordinate and track all Vendor Request For Proposals (“RFPs”)
Interact and negotiate with contractors and subcontractors.
Prepare/update project status reports, process invoices, update tracking reports, and maintain files for due diligence and financials.
Actively track each aspect of project performance against schedules and critical path.
Coordinate the activities of sub-contractors and the relocation of technical functions.
Demonstrate a proactive focus on meeting client and project requirements, in a timely and cost effective manner.
Demonstrate proficiency in the use and application of all Project Development Services technology, as required for assigned projects.
Required Qualifications
Minimum 3-5 years of project management experience in construction projects within pharmaceutical manufacturing or laboratory environments
Ability to prepare and track budgets
Understanding of technical requirements for a business relocation, construction, and renovation projects
Able to adapt and prioritize meeting deadlines in a fast-paced team or an independent environment
Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written) with the ability to successfully communicate with architects, contractors, client’s representatives, and team members
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
Preferred Qualifications
Degree in Architecture, Engineering, or Construction Management
Experience in construction management or real estate
Life Sciences project management experience
Familiarity with architectural drawings and furniture and space planning concepts
LEED, AIA, PE, and/or PMP certification

What this job involves
As a Senior Project Manager, you will lead and deliver complex laboratory, vivarium, facilities and utilities construction projects from inception through closeout. You'll leverage your deep knowledge of laboratory environments to provide strategic guidance to clients, manage project execution across all phases, and contribute to innovative solutions that meet scientific and operational needs. This role requires you to balance technical project management expertise with strong relationship-building skills, creating collaborative environments that drive results while managing budgets, schedules, procurement, quality, and risk for real estate projects in the life sciences sector.
Your day-to-day tasks will include:
Providing management and daily leadership for JLL project teams while serving as the primary point of contact for clients, contractors, and consultants at the project level
Managing all facets of project management including budget, schedule, procurement, quality, and risk for individual real estate projects across planning, design, construction, occupancy, and closeout phases
Creating and executing project execution plans, implementing communication strategies, and facilitating project meetings to keep all stakeholders informed and aligned
Identifying and managing project delivery resources through qualification processes, conducting request for proposals, completing bid analysis, and recommending resources to clients
Applying life science project knowledge to assist clients in understanding critical decision points and identifying issues early in the project cycle to prevent costly changes during construction
Implementing change management routines to assess change requests, determine impacts to scope, budget, schedule, quality and risk, and secure client approvals
Managing project documentation governance, ensuring data integrity, monitoring financial reporting, reviewing consultant invoices, and supporting project accounting forecasts and summaries
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
Ability to work in and around laboratory and vivarium environments throughout all phases of construction
Capability to attend and conduct on-site project meetings and inspections
Work in a fast-paced, high-volume office and project site environment with tight deadlines
Extended periods working on computers utilizing project management technology tools
Flexibility to travel to project sites and client locations as needed
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in Architecture, Engineering, or Construction Management
Minimum 5 years of relevant project management experience
Thorough understanding of Project Management, Building Design & Construction, Critical Path Method (CPM) Scheduling, Building Cost Modeling, and Risk Analysis
Highly articulate with clear and analytical approach to problem solving, strong decision-making abilities, and excellent communication and presentation skills
Proficiency in Information Technology including Internet, Microsoft Windows OS, Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Office Suite, and Microsoft Project
Demonstrated ability to manage client and vendor relationships with strong conflict resolution and account maintenance capabilities
Proven track record of managing project budgets, schedules, and deliverables in complex construction environments
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience with project documentation governance systems and quality assurance procedures
Strong relationship-building skills across all organizational levels and with external clients
Knowledge of emerging technologies and data-driven approaches in real estate and construction management
Experience developing and mentoring diverse project teams through inclusive communication methods
Previous operational experience working in laboratory spaces with ability to leverage that knowledge during the design process
Laboratory construction projects, including biology, chemistry, vivarium, cGMP, and/or clinical diagnostic laboratories
Familiarity with life science industry standards, regulations, and compliance requirements
