Join the power movement as Security Technology Specialist
The Security Technology Specialist is responsible for the deployment, configuration, and ongoing administration of Commonwealth Fusion Systems’ physical security technology infrastructure. This role serves as the primary subject matter expert for Genetec Security Center, owning the full lifecycle of the access control and video management systems across all CFS facilities. The Specialist works closely with facilities, operations, IT, and the broader security team to ensure systems are reliable, current, and aligned with CFS’s evolving security program.
What you'll do:
Genetec Security Center Administration
Serve as primary administrator and subject matter expert for Genetec Security Center (Omnicast VMS and Synergis ACS modules)Configure, maintain, and optimize access control hardware including door controllers, card readers, panels, and credentialsConfigure and maintain IP camera systems; manage video storage, retention policies, and camera health monitoringExecute access control changes: cardholder management, access level assignments, schedule configurations, and area definitionsPerform software updates, patches, and firmware upgrades for the Genetec platform and associated hardwareSystem Documentation and Auditing
Develop and maintain system documentation including network diagrams, hardware inventories, configuration records, and change logsConduct regular system audits to verify access control integrity, camera coverage, and alarm point accuracyTroubleshoot system faults, alarms, and hardware failures; coordinate with Genetec support and vendors for advanced resolutionProject Management and Installation
Lead and project manage security technology installations and system expansions, including new facilities and upgradesCoordinate with third-party integrators and service vendors on installation projects, maintenance contracts, and service callsDevelop project scopes, timelines, and commissioning documentation for all system deploymentsPhysical Security Technology Stack
Manage and maintain the broader physical security technology stack including intrusion detection, intercoms, and visitor management systemsSupport specification and procurement of new physical security hardware in partnership with the Sr. Manager, Physical SecurityMonitor system health dashboards and respond to technology-related security alertsParticipate in on-call rotation for critical system outages or security technology failures
What we're looking for:
High school diploma or equivalent requiredAssociate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Security Management, Computer Science, or a related field preferred5+ years of hands-on experience with physical security systems in a corporate or industrial environmentGenetec Security Center experience required — Genetec Certified Technician (GCT) or Genetec Certified Professional (GCP) required, or must obtain within 6 months of hireExperience with IP camera systems, access control hardware (HID, Allegion, or equivalent), and physical security networking fundamentalsProven ability to manage technology projects from planning through commissioning and documentationAbility to troubleshoot and resolve complex system issues independently with minimal supervisionProficiency in Genetec Security Center administration and Config tool — deep working knowledge of Synergis ACS and Omnicast VMS modulesStrong hardware troubleshooting skills; ability to diagnose and resolve IP camera, controller, and card reader failuresAbility to read and interpret network diagrams, wiring schematics, and hardware documentationStrong attention to detail and commitment to accurate system documentation and record-keepingAbility to manage multiple concurrent projects and prioritize independently

Experience in a high-security, research, life sciences, or industrial facility environmentFamiliarity with PSIM platforms or integrated security management systemsExperience with visitor management systems (Envoy, Proxyclick, Feenics, or similar)Experience managing third-party security integrators and coordinating vendor relationshipsExposure to physical security design including camera coverage planning and access control zone mappingBasic networking knowledge: VLANs, PoE switches, TCP/IP, DNS as applied to physical security systemsFamiliarity with ASIS, NIST, or ISO physical security standards and best practices
