Become part of MANE’s Fragrance Research & Innovation Team as a Senior Scientist at our Creative Center in Parsippany, NJ, where science and creativity come together to shape the future of fragrance. The Senior Scientist leads the development of next-generation technologies that enable differentiated fragrance performance. The role combines fundamental technology research, advanced analytical characterization, data-driven development, and application science to create new technology platforms and translate them into commercially viable fragrance solutions.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Design and lead complex experimental programs to develop, screen, optimize, and validate new technologies.
- Identify unmet fragrance performance needs and translate them into technology development opportunities.
- Use fragrance performance data, analytical results, scientific literature, and emerging technology trends to identify opportunities for new technology development.
- Develop hypotheses linking technology characteristics to fragrance deposition, release, blooming, longevity, substantivity, and sensory performance.
- Apply advanced analytical techniques, experimental design, statistical analysis, and data-driven approaches to accelerate technology development.
- Translate fundamental research findings into technology concepts, prototypes, proof-of-concepts, and scalable technology platforms.
- Lead the adaptation of existing technologies for new fragrance compositions, matrices, applications, and customer requirements.
- Establish technical understanding of technology–fragrance–matrix interactions and develop design principles for technology selection and application
- Other duties in support of company objectives

Management shall support and facilitate the actions within their teams to effectively and adequately implement environmental policies, procedures and practices, as well as promote continual improvement consistent with environmental goals.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Master’s degree in a scientific discipline with 5+ years of relevant industry experience preferred
- Experience with fragrance performance evaluation, analytical characterization, and/or modelling approaches
- Self-motivated and able to work well within a dynamic team environment
- Able to multi-task and manage multiple projects concurrently
- Strong oral and written communication skills
Pay Transparency Disclosure: The anticipated annual salary for this position is $118,000 to $135,000. Final compensation will be determined based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to experience, qualifications, geographic location, and applicable legal considerations. This role is also eligible for a discretionary annual bonus, which is awarded based on both individual and company performance.
