Full job description
In This Position You Will:
Develop computational and mathematical models of the human body and human physiology.
Create patient-specific models using medical imaging data (CT, MRI, ultrasound, microscopy, etc.).
Design and implement biomechanical, physiological, or multi-physics simulations.
Collaborate with software engineers to integrate models into research software and production applications.
Validate models using experimental or clinical data.
Work directly with clinicians, researchers, and sponsors to understand technical requirements.
Contribute to Kitware's open source software ecosystem.
Potential for publication.
Required Qualifications:
Working towards a Master’s degree or PhD in Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Computational Biology, Applied Mathematics, Bioengineering, or a related field.
Experience developing computational or mathematical models of the human body.
Strong programming skills in C++ or Python (C++ preferred).
Experience with scientific computing and numerical methods.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary research teams.
Due to contractual requirements, only U.S. citizens will be considered for this position.
This is an on-site position with the expectation of 5 days/week in office.
Preferred Qualifications:
Familiarity with the Pulse Physiology Engine.
Finite Element Analysis (FEA).
Biomechanics.
Computational fluid dynamics (CFD).
Cardiovascular modeling.
Digital twins.
Multiscale modeling.
Medical image segmentation and registration.
AI or machine learning applied to biomedical data.
Grant proposal development and sponsored research.
