Full job description

A healthcare facility in Brooklyn, NY is seeking a Human Resources Coordinator to join its team.

Must have experience in Human Resources in a Nursing Home

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain accurate staffing schedules for the nursing department

  • Serve as the main point of contact between the facility and payroll team, ensuring timecards and payroll matters are handled correctly

  • Act as liaison for employee benefits coordination with relevant administrators

  • Oversee front desk operations and staff

  • Ensure compliance with Department of Labor and Department of Health requirements for all new hires, including onboarding processes such as background checks, reference verification, and timekeeping setup

  • Manage recruitment efforts, including identifying staffing needs, screening candidates, and conducting interviews

  • Attend management meetings as needed

  • Support overall team objectives by assisting with additional tasks when required

  • Handle core HR functions such as disciplinary actions, payroll status updates, terminations, resignations, and retirements in coordination with department leaders

  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in human resources or staffing required

  • Degree or formal training in HR is strongly preferred

  • Solid understanding of HR processes and administration

  • Strong interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving abilities

  • Excellent communication skills
