Full job description
A healthcare facility in Brooklyn, NY is seeking a Human Resources Coordinator to join its team.
Must have experience in Human Resources in a Nursing Home
Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain accurate staffing schedules for the nursing department
Serve as the main point of contact between the facility and payroll team, ensuring timecards and payroll matters are handled correctly
Act as liaison for employee benefits coordination with relevant administrators
Oversee front desk operations and staff
Ensure compliance with Department of Labor and Department of Health requirements for all new hires, including onboarding processes such as background checks, reference verification, and timekeeping setup
Manage recruitment efforts, including identifying staffing needs, screening candidates, and conducting interviews
Attend management meetings as needed
Support overall team objectives by assisting with additional tasks when required
Handle core HR functions such as disciplinary actions, payroll status updates, terminations, resignations, and retirements in coordination with department leaders
Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Previous experience in human resources or staffing required
Degree or formal training in HR is strongly preferred
Solid understanding of HR processes and administration
Strong interpersonal, organizational, and problem-solving abilities
Excellent communication skills
