Full job description
Bon Appétit is seeking experienced and dependable cooks to support food service operations at the Obama Presidential Center. Team members will be responsible for preparing high-quality meals, maintaining food safety standards, and supporting a positive guest experience in a fast-paced culinary environment.
Responsibilities
Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes and production standards.
Execute proper food preparation techniques, including grilling, sautéing, roasting, baking, and batch cooking.
Ensure food quality, consistency, and presentation standards are met.
Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work area.
Follow all food safety, sanitation, and HACCP guidelines.
Assist with ingredient preparation, stocking, and inventory management.
Collaborate with chefs and kitchen staff to ensure smooth service operations.
Properly store, label, and rotate food products.
Support catering, special events, and high-volume meal periods as needed.
Qualifications
Minimum 2 years of professional cooking experience in a restaurant, hotel, catering, corporate dining, or similar environment.
Knowledge of commercial kitchen equipment and food preparation techniques.
Understanding of food safety and sanitation practices.
Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Reliable attendance and punctuality required.
Ability to stand for extended periods and lift up to 50 lbs.
Preferred Experience
High-volume food service experience.
Experience with corporate dining, catering, or upscale hospitality.
Culinary school training or certification is a plus.
