Job Summary
The Electrical Technician position is responsible for the hands-on support of product assembly, and test of both production and prototype HVAC&R controls equipment. The HVAC&R equipment includes heat exchanger coils, air conditioners, refrigeration units, air handling systems, and their related electrical controls.
Job Responsibilities
• Hands on assembly/disassembly of prototype equipment, control boxes and associated equipment
• Connection of instruments, power/water and ductwork for operational testing
• Hands on work with HVAC&R equipment, chillers, and water pumps
• Assist in wiring and fabricating prototype control panels using industry standard practices
• Use basic electrical schematics, refrigeration diagrams, and product drawings to complete tasks
• Collect and store data and test results in appropriate locations
• Maintain accurate test logs on equipment
• Assist in troubleshooting prototype equipment
Job Responsibilities Part II
• Support 6S and continuous improvement initiatives
• Communicate clearly (written and oral) with other company personnel and customers
• Support, communicate, reinforce, and defend the mission, values and culture of the organization
Qualifications
• High School diploma or GED
• Ability to read basic piping diagrams, refrigeration diagrams, simple electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and product drawings
• Ability to work independently under supervision of others while reporting progress and status
• Proficient with basic hand and shop tools
• Competency with MS Office software tools including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Desired Qualifications
• HVAC-R training and experience working with refrigeration equipment
• Experience with terminal soldering, crimping, and connector fabrication
• EPA 608 Certifications
