Shift: 6:45 AM - 7:15 PM
Experience:
• 18 months of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.
• 2 years of Medical Surgical Unit experience.
• Experience with Cerner is required.
• Trauma Level 1 experience is preferred.
Requirements:
• Candidates must have a Illinois license (required for submission).
• This role may require floating to additional units and locations
• Local & travel allowed.
• Flu vaccination required for submission. Religious and medical declinations accepted.
• Anyone who worked as Staff at a facility in this program in the last 12 months cannot be submitted.
• Anyone who worked as Per Diem at a facility in this program in the last 12 months cannot be submitted.
• Anyone currently working at a facility in this program cannot be submitted.

Additional Details:
References must cover at least 1 full year of relevant experience in specialty within the past 3 years.
Required Skills/Experience: First-time travelers are accepted; the facility wants to see a solid foundation as an RN for new travelers and more than 2 years of medical/surgical nursing experience. MS/Tele experience is required. Previous Charge Experience: Required Cardiac monitoring and emergency response skills/experience are required, including telemetry remote monitoring and use of rapid response teams. Genitourinary/renal case skills/experience are required, including pre/post hemodialysis management and renal failure. IV therapy/phlebotomy skills/experience are required, including blood product administration, central line blood draws, peripheral line care/management, PICC line management, and starting IVs. Medication skills/experience are required, including heparin. Respiratory case skills/experience are required, including chest tubes (Emerson/Pleur-Evac), CPAP/BiPAP, high-flow nasal cannula (HFNC), nasal cannula, non-invasive airway management, oral suctioning, and portable oxygen tank use. Professional knowledge and skills are required, including isolation precautions and wound care/wound vac.
Preferred Skills/Experience: Kidney transplant experience is preferred. Urology/nephrology experience is preferred. Teaching hospital experience is preferred.
Special Requests: You must be able to complete labs within 48 hours of signing. Ideally no more than 5 days of RTO. A parking permit is required.
Unit Details: Adult patient population. The unit includes continuous bladder irrigation, a difficult urinary catheter insertion team, and postoperative care of kidney transplant patients. The unit is very busy, discharging and re-admitting about a third to half of the floor per day. On rare occasions, the unit may have up to 7 patients. Urology/nephrology illnesses and surgical procedures make up 50-75% of the patient population, along with kidney transplant cases. Frequent cases include kidney stones, enlarged prostates, cancers of the kidney, bladder, penis, and prostate, complex bladder urology surgeries, and end-stage kidney disease. Medical-surgical overflow includes a variety of diagnoses, including UTI, pneumonia, and cellulitis. Step-down transfers from ICU and IMC are included, with a wide range of diagnoses.
Shift & Scheduling: Will work every other weekend. No call.
Floating Requirements: Will float within scope to other Medical Surgical units to meet facility needs.
5 days maximum time off. Facility holidays: 11/26/2026, 12/25/2026, 01/01/2027. Number of holidays allowed off: 2
