Now Hiring a Service Technician at Sherwood Crossing in Philadelphia, PA!

Are you a hands-on maintenance professional who enjoys troubleshooting, tackling a variety of repairs, and being part of a team that keeps a busy community running smoothly?

Morgan Properties is seeking a Service Technician to join our team at Sherwood Crossing, a 405-unit apartment community in Philadelphia, PA. This is a great opportunity for someone with a “Whatever It Takes” approach who is dependable, technically capable, and ready to make an impact while continuing to grow their maintenance career.

This opening comes as a result of an internal promotion, highlighting the growth opportunities available within our service teams.

As a Service Technician, You Will:

  • Complete daily maintenance work orders and respond efficiently to resident service requests
  • Support apartment turns and make-readies to prepare homes for incoming residents
  • Troubleshoot and complete repairs involving plumbing, appliances, electrical, carpentry, and HVAC
  • Work with gas appliances and split-system HVAC equipment
  • Maintain interior and exterior areas in accordance with company standards and applicable requirements
  • Diagnose maintenance issues and complete repairs independently when appropriate
  • Communicate professionally with residents, office staff, and fellow service team members
  • Assist the Service Manager and maintenance team during high-volume service and make-ready periods
  • Participate reliably in the property's rotating on-call schedule

The ideal candidate will bring strong hands-on maintenance skills and the ability to balance work orders, resident needs, emergency requests, and apartment turns in a fast-paced environment.

Compensation & Incentives

  • Base Pay: $22.00 – $24.00/hour
  • Up to 50% Rent Discount
  • Property Staff Shared Renewal Commissions
  • Morgan Essentials: $300 quarterly
  • On-Call Appreciation: $15/day for holding the on-call phone

Schedule

  • Monday – Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM
  • Rotating on-call approximately every 4 weeks
  • Must be available and prepared to respond to emergency events
  • Schedule subject to change based on business needs

What We’ll Expect From You

  • Active, valid driver's license and personal vehicle
  • Multifamily maintenance experience strongly preferred
  • At least one year of related maintenance experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Hands-on experience with plumbing, appliance repair, electrical troubleshooting, and general repairs
  • HVAC experience is preferred; HVAC/EPA/CFC certification is a plus
  • Experience with gas appliances and split system HVAC is preferred
  • Experience completing work orders and supporting apartment turns/make-readies
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment
  • Strong customer-service mindset and professional communication skills
  • Dependability, positive attitude, and willingness to assist where needed
