Full job description

Seeking an Endoscopy Technician for a Contract to Hire opportunity. The Endoscopy Tech will play a critical role in supporting gastroenterologists and nurses during endoscopic procedures, ensuring patient safety, comfort and high-quality care.


· Prepare procedure rooms, maintain and disinfect specialized equipment, assists clinicians during diagnostic and therapeutic gastrointestinal procedures.

· Prepare endoscopes, light sources, cameras, and monitors before procedures, ensuring everything works safely.

· Support physicians and nurses during procedures like colonoscopies and upper endoscopies by handling tools and monitoring equipment.

· Clean, decontaminate, and perform high-level disinfection on delicate endoscopes following strict manufacturer rules.

· Help position patients comfortably, ease their anxiety, and monitor vital signs or reactions.

· Collect, label, and document biopsy specimens, while tracking and restocking medical supplies.


Qualifications

· 1+ year of relevant experience

· Understanding of endoscope mechanics, troubleshooting, and strict sterilization protocols

· Ability to stand for long hours and help transport patients or heavy supplies

· Strong verbal skills to coordinate smoothly with the medical team and reassure nervous patients

· Min high school diploma

· On-the-job training or Certification paths such as Certified Flexible Endoscope Reprocessor (CFER)
