Midwest Bus Sales is hiring Diesel Technicians for our Bonner Springs service team. If you're an experienced diesel mechanic or heavy-duty technician looking for competitive pay, a weekday schedule, a heated and air-conditioned shop, and company-paid manufacturer training, we'd like to talk.

Location: Bonner Springs, KS 
Pay: $25-$40/hour, based on experience, plus bonus potential 
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7:00 AM-4:00 PM 
Job Type: Full-Time

The Job 

You’ll diagnose, maintain, and repair buses and medium- and heavy-duty commercial vehicles in a dealership service environment. 

What You Will Do 

  • Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, safety checks, oil changes, and routine service  

  • Diagnose and repair electrical, hydraulic, suspension, brake, and other vehicle systems  

  • Use diagnostic equipment, hand tools, and power tools to troubleshoot vehicle issues  

  • Communicate repair time and parts needs to the Service Writer  

  • Complete repairs within established Standard Repair Times  

  • Identify and document warrantable repairs  

  • Complete repair orders, parts usage, and labor-time documentation  

  • Review and complete repairs identified through vehicle inspection reports  

  • Perform emergency service calls as needed  

  • Maintain a clean and safe work area and follow established safety procedures  

  • Continue developing your technical skills through training and education  

What We Are Looking For 

  • Previous diesel, medium/heavy-duty truck, bus, or related mechanical experience preferred  

  • Familiarity with electrical, brake, suspension, hydraulic, or diesel systems  

  • Ability to use diagnostic equipment, hand tools, and power tools  

  • Valid driver’s license and ability to meet company MVR requirements  

  • CDL with air-brake endorsement preferred, or ability to obtain  

  • ASE or other relevant technical certifications preferred  

  • Must own the tools required to complete assigned work  

  • Basic computer skills for repair orders and service documentation  

Experience level and compensation will be based on your background and demonstrated skills.
