We’re hiring a Yard Technician – Trench Safety at our rental facility in Sanford, FL, and we’re looking for someone who’s ready to grow with us, bring energy and drive to their work, and help us build the future of construction. Yard Technicians are responsible for helping the rental facility keep its storage yard in top shape while inspecting, maintaining, cleaning, and preparing trench safety and shoring equipment for customer use.
Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM, and offers overtime pay after working 40 hours. (This role is subject to on-call scheduling with additional compensation provided)
Primary Responsibilities
Inspect and report the condition of trench safety equipment before and after usage
Document incoming and outgoing equipment
Assist with routine inspections, repairs, maintenance, and cleaning of trench boxes, trench shields, shoring systems, hydraulic shores, road plates, spreaders, and related trench safety equipment
Identify damaged or worn components and assist with repairs to ensure equipment is safe and ready for rental
Perform basic fabrication and repair work as needed; welding experience is a plus
Demonstrate, load, and unload trench safety equipment
Safely handle and stage large steel trench boxes, road plates, shoring components, and related equipment
Maintain equipment inventory systems according to standard operating procedures
Maintain general yard and shop cleanliness in accordance with company standards
Maintain a safe and hazard-free workplace
Serve as an advocate for EquipmentShare’s culture and uphold our high standards of customer experience
Assist with various other duties as assigned by the General Manager

Skills & Qualifications
Required Skills/Abilities:
Safety training required and PPE required when applicable
Ability to safely work around heavy steel trench safety and shoring equipment
Mechanical aptitude and ability to perform basic equipment inspections and repairs
Occasional lifting may be required, up to 50 lbs
Valid driver’s license
Previous trench safety, shoring, construction equipment, fabrication, or rental industry experience preferred
Welding and metal fabrication experience is a plus
Education and Experience:
High School diploma or equivalent
Physical Requirements:
Must be able to be outside during extreme temperatures
Must be able to stand, sit, bend and stoop
Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs
This is a safety sensitive position and any offer of employment will be contingent on passing a 10 panel drug screen
Must be at least 18 years old to be in EquipmentShare yard
