Scope of Position

The Ohio State University Comprehensive Cancer Center - James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Institute’s (OSUCCC-James) mission is to improve health in Ohio and across the world through innovation in research, education, and patient care. The team provides patient care and supportive services directed towards achievement of positive patient care outcomes, maximizing the patient’s involvement in their own plan of care, and reducing the length of hospitalization, the clinic nurse plays a critical role in staff engagement, the patient experience, quality and safety, and cost-effective care.

Position Summary

The Clinic Nurse is responsible for managing and providing care to the patient and their family, and for directing and supervising nursing care provided by other members of the patient care team. The Clinic Nurse is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, coordinating, delegating, and evaluating the nursing care of patients in alignment with the professional practice model.

Minimum Education Required

Bachelor's Level Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience with a Major in nursing

Required Qualifications

Degree in Nursing from a CCNE (Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education) or Accreditation Commission for Education in Nursing (ACEN) accredited nursing program required. Current Ohio license or interim permit.

*Experience in relevant care setting preferred.

Additional Information:

This is a 46-room outpatient infusion unit.  This unit services both GU (Kidney, Bladder, Prostate, Testicular) and Hematology (Lymphoma, Multiple Myeloma, CLL) adult patients.

The unit is open Monday-Friday and closed on weekends and holidays.  This unit provides both intravenous (IV) treatments and intravesicular (bladder) instillations of chemotherapy, immunotherapy and supportive care and will treat between 70-105 patients per day.
