Full job description
What We Offer:
Join the Orthopedic Specialty Care Unit (OSCU) at Novant Health, where you'll help patients regain mobility, restore function, and return to the activities they love. As a Registered Nurse on this specialized 42-bed unit, you'll care for patients recovering from elective orthopedic procedures and traumatic injuries while working alongside experienced orthopedic surgeons, therapists, and interdisciplinary team members who are committed to delivering remarkable patient care.
The Orthopedic Specialty Care Unit provides specialized care for patients recovering from total hip and knee replacements, spine and shoulder surgeries, elective orthopedic procedures, and orthopedic trauma cases, including fractures of the hip, ankle, arm, and leg. With a 1:5 nurse-to-patient ratio and an average patient stay of two to three days, nurses have the opportunity to build meaningful relationships with their patients while guiding them through each stage of recovery. The unit offers a collaborative, team-first environment where nurses are empowered to grow their orthopedic expertise, work closely with rehabilitation teams, and make a lasting impact on patient outcomes.
We're looking for compassionate, adaptable Registered Nurses who thrive in a collaborative environment and are passionate about helping patients achieve their recovery goals. Acute care nursing experience is preferred but not required. Whether you're already experienced in orthopedic nursing or looking to build a specialty skillset, you'll find opportunities for professional growth, strong interdisciplinary partnerships, and a team dedicated to supporting one another while delivering exceptional care.
This position may be eligible for a sign-on bonus and relocation assistance.
What We're Looking For: - Education: 4 Year / Bachelors Degree, preferred.
- Graduate of an accredited school of nursing required. If your RN nursing license has been inactive, retired or lapsed for five years or more and you have not been licensed in another state during the last five years, successful completion of a Board approved refresher course is required prior to reactivating or reinstating your license. In order to be considered for current licensure status, you must apply for reinstatement within one year of completing the refresher course.
- Experience: One year relevant experience, preferred.
- Licensure/Certification: Current RN licensure in appropriate state, required.
