Job Summary:

Valley Children’s Specialty Medical Group is seeking a Board-Certified/Board-Eligible Pediatric Critical Care Physician to join our team. This position provides the opportunity to care for children across two Pediatric Intensive Care Unites at Valley Children's Hospital in Madera and Bakersfield Memorial Hospital in Bakersfield.

Job Description:

Valley Children's Hospital – Madera

Our 42-bed PICU at Valley Children's Hospital cares for more than 1,500 patients annually and provides 24/7 in-house coverage. Our physicians care for a diverse and medically complex patient population while collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and more than 20 pediatric subspecialties.

Program Highlights include:

  • A comprehensive ECMO program recognized as a Platinum Level ELSO Center of Excellence
  • A Level II Pediatric Trauma Center supported by close collaboration among Pediatric Critical Care, Pediatric Surgery and other pediatric subspecialties
  • Opportunities to participate in quality improvement initiatives, education, committee leadership and program development

Bakersfield Memorial Hospital – Bakersfield

The 8-bed, CCS-certified PICU at Bakersfield Memorial Hospital is the only PICU within a 125-mile radius and serves as an essential resource for children and families throughout the Bakersfield region. The unit provides ventilator management, inotropic support and invasive monitoring

Physicians collaborate across both locations, with Valley Children’s Hospital serving as the tertiary referral center for patients requiring additional pediatric subspecialty services or a higher level of care.

  • MD or DO degree
  • Board certified or board eligible in Pediatric Critical Care Medicine
  • Eligible for medical licensure in the State of California
  • Excellent clinical, communication and interpersonal skills
