Job Description
The Logistics Intern, reporting to the Logistics Manager of Domestic Transportation, will play a key role in analyzing data, optimizing transportation network , and supporting our transportation systems to ensure the efficient and cost-effective movement of goods. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, identify data-driven insights, and reinforce strategies to improve overall logistics cost and supply chain performance.
This internship will be located in our Milwaukee, WI Headquarters.
Key Accountabilities
Maintains the highest level code of conduct and ethics.
Partner with internal stakeholders to help drive continuous improvement that maximizes the value of Zurn Elkay’s transportation management system (TMS)
Track and report on fuel and market data trends using tools such as DAT, EIA, and JOC, providing insights and expectations for various market segments.
Maintain and update carrier contact master records, consolidating and refreshing outdated records to ensure a single, reliable source of data.
Develop and implement a standard operating procedure (SOP) and template for tracking prospective carriers
Manage the Certificate of Insurance (COI) process for carriers, including updates in DAT, validation of dates, and establishment of a monitoring process to ensure compliance and accuracy.
Ad-hoc projects as defined.
Qualifications/Requirements
Currently pursuing a degree in a related field (Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or Business).
Proficiency in MS Office. Advanced Excel proficiency preferred
Communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
Detail-oriented, organized, and able to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
Ability to work full time (40 hours) during the Summer
