CNC Maintenance Mechanic, Aerospace Manufacturing

Location: Portland, CT
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $70,000 to $85,000 per year

Keep precision CNC equipment running reliably for a manufacturer serving the aerospace and defense industries.

Must-Haves

  • 8+ years of hands-on CNC machinery troubleshooting experience
  • Experience repairing electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems
  • Preventive maintenance experience on manufacturing equipment
  • Ability to read technical drawings, diagrams, manuals, and specifications
  • Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring and diagnostic instruments
  • Experience preparing purchase requisitions and working with vendors
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and commitment to safety

What You’ll Do

  • Troubleshoot and repair CNC machinery across electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems
  • Perform preventive maintenance on machines, motors, conveyors, and pneumatic tools
  • Diagnose malfunctions using drawings, manuals, and precision test equipment
  • Dismantle equipment and replace defective parts using hoists and cranes
  • Adjust, align, and calibrate equipment and control instruments
  • Install and relocate shop machinery
  • Fabricate repair parts as needed
  • Coordinate complex repairs with vendors and service providers
  • Manage parts inventory and document all maintenance work
  • Support facility maintenance and coach production on routine care

Nice-to-Haves

  • Aerospace, defense, or precision manufacturing maintenance experience
  • Machine installation, alignment, or calibration experience
  • Experience fabricating replacement components

Compensation and Benefits

  • $70,000 to $85,000 per year
