Full job description
A residential treatment program in Southern Virginia, serving adolescents is seeking an experienced Clinical Director to oversee all clinical services and ensure the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based care. This leadership role is responsible for guiding a multidisciplinary team, maintaining regulatory compliance, and supporting positive outcomes for youth and families. The ideal candidate is a strong clinical leader with experience in adolescent behavioral health, capable of balancing program oversight with hands-on support in a dynamic environment.

Clinical Director Requirements and Qualifications
- Master’s degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, or related field (Doctorate preferred)
- Active clinical licensure (LPC, LCSW, LMFT, or Licensed Psychologist) in the state of Virginia
- 5+ years of clinical experience, including at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role
- Experience working with adolescents in residential, inpatient, or acute care settings
- Strong knowledge of trauma-informed care, evidence-based practices, and adolescent development
- Experience with clinical documentation, EMR systems, and compliance standards
- Ability to lead crisis intervention efforts and provide guidance in high-risk situations
Clinical Director Preferred Background and Skills
- Experience with Joint Commission standards and Department of Behavioral Health regulations
- Training or certification in TF-CBT, DBT, or similar therapeutic modalities
- Background in family therapy and systems-based approaches
- Proven ability to lead, develop, and retain clinical teams
- Strong communication, critical thinking, and decision-making skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, clinical environment
