Description

The Student Support Specialist (SSS) will be placed at a San Pablo elementary school to work with students 1:1 and in small groups to promote academic success, positive behavior, and social-emotional skill-building. The SSS will report directly to the Community School Director and be an important member of the site wellness team.

Benefits

  • Pay rate of $27/hour

  • Part-time: 24 hours/week, Monday-Friday, 4-5 hours/day

  • Paid BACR holidays

  • Off on weekends and school vacations

Minimum Qualifications

  • Experience working with children in a school setting

  • Bilingual in Spanish/English 

Preferred

  • 4 year college degree or equivalent

Responsibilities

  • Facilitate small group academic interventions based on identified needs, including newcomer support

  • 1:1 tutoring

  • Help students focus on and participate in instructional activities while in the classroom.

  • Support site as needed with other academic assessments or interventions
