Full job description
We are seeking a motivated and customer-focused Junior IT Administrator to join our Information Technology team. This role is responsible for providing end-user support, assisting with account administration, managing IT assets, and supporting the organization's network and systems infrastructure.
The ideal candidate is an early-career IT professional with strong troubleshooting skills, a willingness to learn, and a passion for delivering exceptional technical support. This position offers the opportunity to gain hands-on experience with enterprise systems, networking, virtualization, and cybersecurity while working alongside experienced IT professionals.
Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong customer service, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Strong knowledge of computer hardware, software, and operating systems, including Windows 10 and Windows 11.
- Strong understanding of networking fundamentals, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VLANs, wireless networking, and network troubleshooting.
- Experience supporting and troubleshooting network-connected devices, including printers, VoIP phones, wireless access points, and switches.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Active Directory user and group administration.
- Ability to troubleshoot hardware, software, connectivity, and user access issues.
- Experience using help desk ticketing systems and documenting technical support activities.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with team members and vendors.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Willingness to learn new technologies and grow in systems and network administration.
Required Qualifications
Education
- Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field preferred.
- Relevant certifications such as A+, Network+, CCNA, or Microsoft certifications are a plus.
Experience
- 1-3 years of IT support, help desk, or technical support experience.
- Experience supporting Windows desktop environments and end users.
- Hands-on experience troubleshooting network connectivity issues and supporting LAN/WAN, wireless, and networked devices.
- Experience with Active Directory, user account management, and basic systems administration.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with Freshservice or similar service desk platforms.
- Exposure to VMware, Nutanix, or other virtualization technologies.
- Familiarity with Cisco or Meraki networking environments.
- Experience with mobile device management.
- Basic knowledge of cybersecurity best practices.
- Experience in a manufacturing environment is a plus.
- Experience supporting MacOS devices is a plus.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to move and set up computer equipment and peripherals.
- Ability to sit, stand, and work at a computer for extended periods.
- Occasionally lift equipment weighing up to 25 pounds.
Full-Time Position
Location: Hightstown, NJ
Salary: $70,000 - $75,000 per year
