Full job description

The Engineering Facility Maintenance Technician is responsible for the maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance of building systems and equipment. This role supports the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of facilities by ensuring mechanical, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and general building systems are functioning properly.

Pay: $25.00/hour.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on facility equipment and building systems.
  • Troubleshoot and repair HVAC, electrical, plumbing, mechanical, and building automation systems.
  • Inspect facility equipment and identify maintenance needs before failures occur.
  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests, work orders, and emergency repairs.
  • Maintain boilers, chillers, air handling units, pumps, motors, and related equipment.
  • Perform basic electrical repairs including lighting, outlets, switches, and circuit troubleshooting.
  • Conduct plumbing repairs including fixtures, valves, pipes, and drainage systems.
  • Monitor and maintain building systems to ensure compliance with operational and safety standards.
  • Complete maintenance logs, inspection reports, and work order documentation accurately.
  • Coordinate with contractors and vendors performing specialized maintenance services.
  • Maintain inventory of tools, equipment, and maintenance supplies.
  • Support facility improvement projects and equipment installations.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, company safety policies, and environmental regulations.

  • Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Technical school certification preferred.
  • 3+ years of facility maintenance, building engineering, or industrial maintenance experience preferred.
  • Experience with HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems.
  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals.
  • Knowledge of preventive maintenance practices and CMMS systems.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Preferred Certifications

  • EPA Universal Certification
  • HVAC Certification
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30
  • Boiler Operator Certification
  • Electrical or Journeyman License (where applicable)
  • Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to climb ladders and work at various heights.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and reach for extended periods.
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying environmental conditions.
