About the Role:
Join our team as a Music Teacher, where you will engage Elementary students at our Stratford School in San Jose. You will play a vital role in cultivating students’ appreciation for music and helping them develop foundational skills in both instrumental and vocal performance.
Wage Range: $26.00-$43.00

Responsibilities:

Deliver engaging, age-appropriate music lessons across grade levels

Incorporate the piano as the primary instrument of instruction, while integrating a variety of other instruments

Teach music reading skills, transposition techniques, and basic music composition

Instruct students in basic vocal techniques, including diaphragmatic breathing, pitch, diction, harmony, and scale work

Foster a positive classroom environment

Collaborate with faculty to support interdisciplinary learning opportunities

Communicate regularly with parents and guardians regarding student progress and growth

Maintain a vibrant, organized classroom conducive to active participation
Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Music Education or related field from an accredited college or university

Proficiency in piano, with the ability to teach and accompany students

Strong music sight-reading and transposition skills

Experience composing original music is a plus

Ability to teach fundamental vocal techniques and group singing

Prior experience teaching or working with children in an educational setting is preferred

Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively engage students, parents, and colleagues
