Cash Apps Specialist
This position is responsible for ensuring that all payments received (cash, checks, credit cards, and EFT) are posted to the correct customer account and invoice, and that each business day’s deposits are completed on time.
The work is detail-intensive and deadline-driven, with a daily close-out requirement. It sits within the Cash Applications team, a small group that cross-trains across functions so coverage and support are always available.
Responsibilities
• Post payments daily. Apply cash, check, credit card, and EFT payments to the correct account and invoice.
• Complete daily deposits. Submit each business day’s deposits electronically by the end of the day.
• Process credit card payments as requested.
• Reconcile bank activity daily. Complete a daily reconciliation of bank transactions.
• Reconcile credit card activity daily. Complete a daily reconciliation of credit card transactions.
• Handle occasional post office runs using a personal vehicle. Mileage is reimbursed.
• Respond to inquiries from other Per Mar departments regarding postings and credit card payments.
• Perform other duties as required.
Qualifications
• High school diploma or GED
• Strong computer skills, including demonstrated experience with Microsoft Word and Excel
• Ability to learn and navigate new software programs quickly
• Strong attention to detail and a high standard for accuracy
• Effective written and verbal communication, along with customer service skills
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment
• Valid driver’s license and access to a reliable personal vehicle
• Associate’s degree (A.A.) in accounting, business, or a related field - Preferred
• Six months to one year of related experience or training
