LabCorp is seeking a Medical Lab Technologist to join our team at the Emanuel Hospital in Portland, OR.
Work Schedule: 3x12-hour shifts Saturday-Monday 9:00AM-9:30PM
Job Responsibilities:
Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria
Function as a generalist across hospital laboratory departments
Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental Standard Operating Procedures
Monitor, operate and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality
Demonstrate the ability to make technical decisions regarding testing and problem solving.
Prepare, test and evaluate new reagents or controls
Report accurate and timely test results in order to deliver quality patient care
Perform and document preventive maintenance and quality control procedures
Identify and replenish testing bench supplies as necessary
Assist with processing of specimens when needed
Maintain a safe work environment and wear appropriate personal protective equipment
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Life Science, Medical Technology
ASCP or AMT certification
Preferred Qualifications:
1 year or more of clinical laboratory testing experience in Blood Bank.
Additional Job Standards:
High level of attention to detail with the ability to prioritize and multitask
Ability to work independently and within a team environment
Able to pass a standardized color blindness test
Flexibility to work overtime as needed
Exceptional customer service
Strong communication skills; both written and verbal
Comfortable working under minimal supervision
