Full job description

Overview: Performs all basic support functions for Perioperative services including scheduling, entering charges into Epic system (while ensuring accuracy and timeliness) and dispositioning of surgical cases. Providing clerical support within the department.

Qualifications: Required Education: GED or High School Diploma Preferred Education: Courses in medical billing and coding. Necessary Skills: 1. Strong interpersonal skills. 2. Ability to communicate with people of diverse backgrounds. 3. Knowledge of insurance requirements preferred. 4. Requires excellent decision-making skills and initiative. 5. Must be detail oriented. 6. Ability to prioritize tasks and organize work flow. 7. Must be able to perform cashiering functions. 8. Must be able to handle stressful situations in a professional manner. 9. Knowledge of PC in Windows environment. 10. 25wpm typing skills. Required Licensure/Certifications: BLS from the American Heart Association required within 3 months of date of hire/transfer Effective 3/29/2021, current employees must obtain BLS from the American Heart Association by June 30, 2021. Required Experience: Less than one (1) year of experience. Preferred Experience: Three years customer service preferred in healthcare environment, and medical billing, or scheduling experience.
