Are you an experienced CDL-B driver who also is certified on fork truck and who is looking for a good change? Come join a great team and work in a convenient location in Cheektowaga, NY! We have 1 opening on our team on 2nd shift. This is a Temp to Direct hire role.

Hours are: 3PM to 11PM. Fork Truck re-certification will be on 1st shift for 2 weeks 7AM to 3PM.

Rate: $24-$25 / hour to start. Plus $1.00 / hour for shift differential.

Job Responsibilities:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job function satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made, upon request, to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  • In a safe and timely manner, drive the box truck to and from the production site and the off-sight warehouse location to pick up raw materials or deliver finished products.
  • Plan and prioritize the order in which to pick up and deliver materials, and by using production schedules and judgement.
  • Load and unload material by using a forklift.
  • Check for accuracy of the material and ensure that the materials are not damaged. If material is damaged, document incoming damaged material.
  • Sort items to place in proper warehouse location in a timely manner. Speak with others to ensure work is done appropriately.
  • Review shipping and receiving invoices for accuracy.
  • Troubleshoot and document all truck issues for the Warehouse Manager.
  • Keep shipping area clean and organized per food safety requirements.
  • Work collaboratively and effectively with all departments to obtain information and solutions for customers.
  • Maintain a customer-focused perspective in all activities initiated to ensure that customer needs are successfully met.
  • Adhere to all safety policies and procedures, as included in the employee handbook, to ensure everyone’s safety and to ensure appropriate behavior in the workplace.
  • Perform other tasks as assigned to assist in the success of ProAmpac- Buffalo.

Qualificaitons:

  • High school or equivalent education.
  • Minimum of three years of CDL driving experience to perform job adequately.
  • Must have a Forklift Certification and an active Commercial Driver’s License (CDL-B) to perform this job.
  • Ability to read, comprehend and write simple correspondence, and effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers or fellow employees.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals. Ability to compute ratio and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions and to deal with problems involving a few variables in standardized situations.
