BASIS Independent Manhattan Lower School, a grades PK–5 private school, is seeking qualified candidates for an Associate Director of Admissions position for immediate hire!

As the Associate Director of Admissions, you are responsible for putting into play your love for education and your sales and project management expertise to support the goals and objectives of the team, in addition to helping connect the school to families that are a strong fit for our acclaimed academic program.

Primary Responsibilities

Manage the end-to-end admissions process for families, from application submission through final decision. This includes guiding families in completing application requirements, tracking and reviewing application materials, communicating admissions decisions, and following up on deadlines and outstanding items throughout the process.

Support and lead CRM tools to manage prospective student inquiries and coordinate admissions event registration and follow up.

Partner with admissions leadership to plan, develop and execute student recruitment strategies to drive application growth and achieve enrollment goals.

Increase awareness of school admissions through outreach, which includes building relationships with feeder schools, local companies, organizations, associations, communities, and currently enrolled and new families.

Participate in or lead Family Meetings, campus tours, assessments, Information Sessions, Open Houses, and other admissions related events.

Lead the Student Ambassador and Student Shadow Programs by recruiting, training, and supervising student leaders while coordinating campus visits and outreach initiatives for prospective students.

Coordinate admissions events from planning through execution, and provide event support from setup to post-event breakdown.

Foster collaborative relationships with teachers and front office staff to facilitate welcoming introductions and smooth transitions for families new to campus.

Supports the follow-up with families who are in our admissions pipeline which will include phone calls and e-mails to those on our interest list to build relationships with new families and students and help drive application growth.

Write and send admissions newsletters, blog posts, and other communication to the school's interest list; this may include partnering with Communications to support social media efforts.

Monitor and achieve lead generation and enrollment goals through effective admissions strategies and ongoing performance evaluation.
Administrative Responsibilities

Build and maintain a calendar of events for the year and oversee registration and preparation (logistics, setup, etc.) for admissions events.

Create and maintain an outreach list.

Update PowerPoint presentations for admissions events such as Information Sessions and Open House.

Perform school administrative and operational duties as assigned, including a weekly school opening or closing and classroom coverage as needed.
Data Analysis Responsibilities

Evaluate enrollment data with admissions leadership to determine enrollment strategies and meet enrollment targets.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in marketing or communications preferred

3-4 years' relevant sales experience. 1 year of internal admissions experience preferred

Experience within education or a true passion for working within PK-12 education

Must be comfortable with nontraditional work hours; evenings and some weekends per month are a must

Social media experience (preferred but not required)

Microsoft Office (Word, PPT, Excel) skills are absolutely essential

Travel: Must be able to travel between both our Lower School on the Upper West Side and Upper School in Chelsea as needed. Must be able to travel by air or motor vehicle to required training and development sessions as needed.
