A Semiconductor Maintenance Vacuum Technician is responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, and optimization of vacuum systems and related equipment used in semiconductor manufacturing. This role supports production operations by ensuring vacuum pumps, abatement systems, gas delivery equipment, and process tools operate safely, reliably, and efficiently to maintain equipment high uptime and product quality.

This position is for a 12-hour compressed work week 2-2-3.
Role and Responsibilities:
- Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on vacuum pumps, exhaust systems, abatement units, and semiconductor process equipment.
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and vacuum-related system failures.
- Monitor system performance and identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability and reduce downtime.
- Replace, rebuild, and overhaul vacuum pumps, seals, bearings, valves, and associated components.
- Conduct leak detection, vacuum integrity testing, and system qualification activities.
- Interpret technical drawings, schematics, maintenance procedures, and manufacturer documentation.
- Support equipment installations, upgrades, and process tool startups.
- Document maintenance activities, equipment status, and repair actions in computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
- Follow cleanroom protocols, contamination control requirements, and safety procedures when working with hazardous gases, chemicals, and high-vacuum systems.
- Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, and equipment teams to resolve equipment issues and improve production performance.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives focused on reliability, safety, and operational excellence.
Qualifications and Education:
- Associate degree, technical certification, or equivalent experience in Electronics, Mechanical Technology, or a related field.
- Experience maintaining vacuum systems, semiconductor equipment, or industrial manufacturing equipment.
- Knowledge of vacuum pump operation, pressure measurement, leak detection, gas handling systems, and process tool maintenance.
- Ability to read electrical schematics, mechanical drawings, and technical manuals.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency with basic hand tools, test equipment, and diagnostic instruments.
- Ability to work in a cleanroom environment and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Willingness to work shifts, weekends, holidays, and on-call schedules as needed.
Preferred Qualification:
- Experience in semiconductor fabrication (Fab) facilities.
- Knowledge of dry pumps, cryo pumps, turbo molecular pumps, foreline systems, and abatement technologies.
- Familiarity with equipment manufacturers such as Applied Materials, Lam Research, KLA, ASML, Evatec, Vecco and TEL.
- Understanding of Lean Manufacturing, TPM, or Reliability-Centered Maintenance practices.
Salary Range:
The Hourly range for this position is $24.55-$36.85 per hour. Final compensation will be determined based on factors such as experience, skills, and qualifications.
