Respiratory Unit - Respiratory Therapist - $1540 per week.

Shift: 6:30 PM - 7:00 AM

Experience:

• 24 months of experience with 3 months within the last 12 months.

• 24 months of Respiratory Unit experience.

• 3 months of travel experience is required.

• Experience with Cerner is required.

• Trauma Level 2 experience is preferred.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have a license (required for submission).

• This role will require floating to multiple units

• Local & travel allowed. Candidates living <60 miles from facility will be processed as local.

• 12 months gap required between for Staff at Program: Aya Program - MedStar Health and no current placement allowed at Program: Aya Program - MedStar Health.

Additional Details:

References must cover at least 1 full year of relevant experience in specialty within the past 3 years.

You must be able to complete labs within 48 hours of signing.

Required Skills/Experience: 2 years of experience as an RRT in Adult Critical Care and NICU. 1 prior travel assignment completed. Be familiar with Draeger V500, Draeger VN500, and Servo U ventilators. Required skills include airway management devices/suctioning, albuterol, Atrovent, Combivent, Flovent, inhaled steroids, Isuprel, lidocaine, Perforomist, Pulmicort, racemic epinephrine, Spiriva, terbutaline sulfate, tobramycin, Xopenex, aerosol setup mask, aerosol setup trach, Medihaler, metered dose inhaler, nebulizer, High Flow Nasal Cannula (HFNC), trach collar, BiPAP, CPAP, troubleshooting high pressure alarms, weaning from mechanical ventilation, assisting in high-risk delivery, umbilical blood gases, and comfortable drawing and analyzing ABGs.

Preferred Skills/Experience: ED experience preferred. Bronchoscopy, bicarbonate, inhaled Flolan, ketamine, Mucomyst, nitric oxide (INo), and theophylline preferred. Teaching hospital experience is preferred. Community hospital experience is preferred.

Unit Details: Cares for neonate, infant, adult, and geriatric patient populations. Responsibilities include endotracheal tube suctioning, extubation, nasal airway placement and suctioning, oral airway placement and suctioning, pulmonary hygiene, sputum specimen collection, tracheostomy suctioning, and ABG interpretation.

Shift & Scheduling: Flexible contract hours: 36 or 48 per week. No on-call requirement. Every other weekend required. Holiday coverage expected.

Floating Requirements: May float between Adult and NICU if candidate has NICU experience.
