Full job description
Our client, a leading innovator in transportation technology, is seeking a Fleet Support Engineer - HMI Systems to join their team. As a Fleet Support Engineer - HMI Systems, you will be part of the Vehicle Development department supporting operational fleet management and passenger experience systems. The ideal candidate will have strong problem-solving skills, excellent collaboration abilities, and meticulous documentation skills, which will align successfully in the organization.
Job Title: Fleet Support Engineer - HMI Systems
Location: Foster City, CA
Pay Range: $72/hour + Benefits
What's the Job?
- Serve as the primary technical escalation point for real-time issues related to HMI systems, including passenger displays, audio/visual alerts, interior cameras, and cabin interaction modules.
- Conduct detailed root cause analysis through log review (Linux/Android logs) and electrical diagnostics to resolve complex hardware and software failures.
- Lead trend monitoring efforts by analyzing fleet data to identify failure patterns such as display blackouts or audio latency, and implement permanent corrective actions.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive troubleshooting documentation to empower field technicians and improve operational efficiency.
- Perform hardware validation and functional testing for new HMI components and firmware updates, ensuring system reliability and performance.
What's Needed?
- Minimum 4 years of relevant experience in automotive, consumer electronics, or autonomous vehicle systems, focusing on infotainment or cockpit electronics.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- Experience troubleshooting communication protocols such as LVDS, Ethernet, CAN, and LIN.
- Familiarity with display technologies (LCD/OLED), touch controllers, and audio systems.
- Ability to interpret schematics, electrical diagrams, and connector pinouts for effective troubleshooting.
