Full job description
The Building Engineer is qualified to operate or assist in operating all
heating and ventilating equipment, engines, turbines, motors, combustion engines, pumps, air
compressors, ice and refrigerating machines, air conditioning units, fans and siphons on the site
assigned.

- Experience: Minimum 3–5 years of experience as a building engineer, stationary engineer, or in commercial/industrial facilities maintenance, with hands-on work across HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems.
- Licensure/Certification: Valid stationary engineer license or equivalent trade certification as required by local/state jurisdiction (e.g., Universal EPA 608 Refrigerant Certification for refrigerant handling); boiler operator license a plus depending on building class.
- Technical Knowledge: Working knowledge of HVAC systems, boilers, chillers, refrigeration equipment, air compressors, pumps, and building automation/control systems, including the ability to read blueprints, wiring diagrams, and equipment schematics.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to perform physical tasks including climbing ladders, working in confined spaces, lifting up to 50 lbs, and standing/walking for extended periods, with availability for on-call or after-hours emergency response.
- Education: High school diploma or GED required; trade school certification, technical degree, or equivalent apprenticeship training in HVAC, electrical, or mechanical systems preferred.
