Responsibilities:



JOB SUMMARY

Under the direction of Leadership, the IT Application Lead is responsible to empower our community through the continuous development, deployment, integration and support of vendor proprietary enterprise application software. The IT Application Lead supports software that is necessary to run clinical, financial, or business systems within a large integrated health system. This position works on the analysis of existing and proposed vendor supplied software functionality to determine if the software conforms to currently health system workflow processes. The IT Application Lead is a high performing individual who collaborates with business operations to understand and define system requirements to develop innovative solutions meeting the customers' needs.
The IT Application Lead will mentor assigned team members, assist with the development of professional growth plans, and educate others on best practices. This role will be responsible to assist with the oversight of team deliverables, escalations, and engagement. The IT Application Lead is responsible to understand and conform to HonorHealth's project and change management methodologies and is responsible for leading high complexity projects leveraging this framework. In addition, this position requires an on-call rotation facilitating off hour work functions in support of incidents, demands, upgrades, patches, and project task fulfillment.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Job Duties:
    Responsible for leading, coaching and mentoring department personnel.
    Ability to troubleshoot high complexity end-user issues, workflow problems, and enhancement requests for departmental users, associated medical staff, key stakeholders, management and leadership.
    Contributes to technical and workflow root cause analysis.
    Provides support for departmental users, associated medical staff, key stakeholders, management and leadership to resolve end user issues, workflow problems, enhancement requests, and provide direction on fixes to known issues.
    Identifies and coordinates enterprise workflow improvement opportunities and leads in analysis and implementation.
    Evaluates how future technology solutions and methodologies affect current and future business practices. Researches (proactively) for opportunities to leverage technology in the business.
    Collects information regarding potential system enhancements and investigates preferred choices from the application business partners.
  • Teamwork, Collaboration, Professionalism and Leadership:
    Promotes accountability amongst team members and has responsibility for ensuring team goals are achieved.
    Demonstrates excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills.
    Communicates effectively (written and oral) across all levels of the organization and has the ability to determine the appropriate forum for each method. Acts as liaison between work teams and departments.
    Develops and maintains effective working relationships across HonorHealth and with vendor applications support personnel.
    Facilitates, coordinates and prepares recommendations and presentations for key stakeholder review and/or approval.
    Must be willing and able to travel to any/all HonorHealth and affiliated sites
  • Project Management:
    Leads complex technical and workflow root cause analysis, project implementations, and external workgroups.
    Presents action plans regarding system implementation and support to appropriate stakeholders.
    Acts as an advisor for the change management, project management, and documentation policies and standards, established by the Information Technology Department and Project Management Office for maintenance, requests and new initiatives. Leads high complexity projects as assigned.
    Facilitates work groups to successfully drive outcomes that deliver best practice, optimal workflows with high adoption, effective utilization of standard platforms and network standardization.
    Understands and utilizes the IT Project Management toolset for the successful completion of initiatives.
  • Change Control:
    Understands and follows established change control procedures for testing, documenting, and communicating system changes.
    Defines, develops and ensures compliance with the change control and documentation policies and standards.
    Complies with HonorHealth policies and procedures in addition to the Mission, Vision and Values.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
 
EDUCATION
  • Bachelors or 4 years' work related experience Degree in Healthcare, Business, Information Systems (IS), Computer Science, or related field Required
  • Masters Degree in Healthcare, Business, Information Systems (IS), Computer Science, or related field Preferred
 
EXPERIENCE
  • 5 years inhealthcare, consulting, or IT related experience that demonstrates an advanced understanding of the standard tools, workflow processes, and/or procedures and concepts used in the deployment and development of application software necessary to run the healthcare systems business, clinical or financial systems. Required
  • Other Leadership experience in a lead, supervisor, or manager role. Preferred
  • 8 years of healthcare, consulting, or IT related experience that demonstrates an advanced understanding of the standard tools, workflow processes, and/or procedures and concepts used in the deployment and development of application software necessary to run the healthcare systems business, clinical or financial systems. Preferred
 
LICENSE AND CERTIFICATIONS
  • Certification for assigned application should be obtained within designated timeframe per policy. Required
  • Epic Certification - Certificate, Training and/or certification in assigned application. Certification or licensure for clinical, revenue cycle, or business unit that primary application supports. Epic certification as applicable for assigned team. Preferred
