Full job description
Key Accountabilities
· Operate, monitor, inspect, and maintain all critical mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) infrastructure
· Operate and maintain chilled water systems, HVAC equipment including Air Handling Units (AHUs), Computer Room Air Handlers (CRAHs), make-up air units, diesel generators, exhaust systems, humidification systems, filtration equipment, and associated piping distribution networks
· Monitor electrical distribution equipment including switchgear, transformers, UPS systems, transfer switches (ATS), remote power panels (RPPs), and electrical distribution infrastructure while coordinating with qualified electrical personnel as required.
· Perform routine operational rounds throughout the facility to inspect mechanical and utility systems, monitor Building Management System (BMS), Electrical Power Monitoring System (EPMS), and equipment control systems to identify alarms, performance trends, capacity concerns, and abnormal operating conditions.
· Perform preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities utilizing the site's Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
· Support change management activities by reviewing work scopes, participating in pre-job planning, executing approved procedures, and verifying equipment status before and after maintenance activities.
· Escort, coordinate, and oversee vendors, contractors, and service providers
· Participate in equipment startup, commissioning, integrated systems testing (IST), turnover activities
· Maintain compliance with all applicable federal, state, local, OSHA, NFPA, EPA, environmental, and company safety requirements while promoting a strong safety culture.
· Participate in the development, review, and continuous improvement of SOPs, MOPs, EOPs, maintenance procedures, commissioning documents, lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures, and operational standards.
· Support emergency response activities including utility failures, mechanical failures, generator operations, chilled water outages, fire protection system events, environmental incidents, and severe weather events.
· Work collaboratively with operations, engineering, commissioning, and construction teams to maintain continuous operation and achieve the highest levels of availability for all critical facility infrastructure.
· Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned to support safe, reliable, and efficient operation of the mission-critical facility.
Required Skills
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent AND 2+ years experience working in a Data Center with proven success in delivering customer requirements in a critical technology environment
- Evidence of self-management and alignment with ever-changing priorities
- Good written and oral communication skills, tenacity, and working to a high level of accuracy
