Outbound Manager will focus on managing the shipment, distribution, and delivery of goods, ensuring accurate order fulfillment, efficient dispatch operations, and on‑time deliveries while optimizing costs and maintaining compliance.

Overview

Outbound logistics involves overseeing the movement of finished goods from a warehouse or distribution center to customers or retail locations. Responsibilities typically include coordinating shipments, supervising staff, optimizing processes, and ensuring service-level compliance. 

Key Responsibilities

• Order Fulfillment & Dispatch
  • Ensure accurate, efficient, and timely picking, packing, and shipping of orders. 
  • Monitor shipment schedules and guarantee on-time delivery. 
• Transport & Route Planning
  • Oversee transport scheduling and outbound planning to maximize fleet efficiency. 
  • Coordinate carrier appointments and ensure smooth handoffs. 
• Process Optimization
  • Implement continuous improvement initiatives to enhance workflow and reduce errors. 
  • Optimize wave planning and warehouse management system (WMS) configurations. 
• Team Leadership
  • Lead, coach, and develop warehouse and dispatch teams. 
  • Coordinate staff involved in packing, labeling, and loading shipments. 
• Quality Control & Compliance
  • Ensure shipment accuracy, proper documentation, and adherence to safety regulations. 
  • Maintain compliance with SOPs, SLAs, and legal requirements. 
• Performance & Cost Management
  • Monitor KPIs and implement corrective actions. 
  • Manage departmental budgets, labor allocation, and cost controls. 

Required Skills & Competencies

• Knowledge of logistics software and WMS systems.
