Job Description

As a Security Officer Full Time Access Authorization Coordinator in Totowa, NJ , you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Financial Institutions, and more. As an Access Control Officer at a leading financial institution, you will help maintain a secure environment by managing credentials, monitoring entry points, verifying authorized access, and responding to security-related concerns. You will provide exceptional customer service and communication while remaining visible to help deter incidents. What You'll Do:

• Provide customer service to employees, visitors, and/or contractors while carrying out access-control procedures, site-specific policies, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
• Monitor entry and exit points, verify credentials and visitor authorization, and maintain accurate access-related logs in accordance with site procedures.
• Respond to access-related incidents, alarms, and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, escalating concerns through established communication channels.
• Conduct regular and random patrols of assigned areas, entry points, and the perimeter to help identify and report unusual activity or conditions.
• Support a professional, controlled environment within a financial institution by following security-related procedures and providing clear directions to authorized visitors.

Minimum Requirements:

• Have at least 1 year of law enforcement experience, 2 years of security supervisor or manager experience, or 3 years of security-related experience.
• A state, county, or city-issued security-related license is preferred.
• Customer service experience is preferred.
• Access control and badge experience is preferred.
• Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
• Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
• Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
• As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
• Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
• A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
