Full job description

WD is building the infrastructure behind the AI-driven data economy.

As AI scales, so does data. Every interaction, every model, every system generates data that must be stored, managed, and made accessible over time. That’s where we come in.

We combine deep engineering expertise with global-scale manufacturing to deliver the storage systems that make AI possible, powering hyperscale data centers, cloud platforms, and enterprise infrastructure worldwide.

This isn’t theoretical work. It’s real systems, at real scale, people solving some of the hardest challenges in technology today.

We’re looking for people who want to build, solve, and operate at that level.

Join us and let’s shape the future of data.

About the Role

Western Digital's Corporate Real Estate team is seeking an experienced Construction Contracts Manager to support our capital construction program. This role is the financial and contractual backbone of our project delivery team — responsible for cost tracking, contract administration, procurement coordination, and compliance across an active portfolio of construction and infrastructure projects.

You will work closely with Project Managers, Finance, Legal, and Procurement to ensure projects are delivered within budget, contractual obligations are met, and all financial processes comply with internal controls and accounting standards.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Cost Management & Financial Reporting

  • Prepare and reconcile monthly job cost reports in Oracle ERP; develop and maintain project budget and cash flow forecasting models in coordination with Project Managers and Finance

  • Perform weekly cost reporting and variance analysis across the active project portfolio

  • Coordinate monthly accruals with the Finance team to ensure costs are recorded in the correct period

  • Support CIP (Construction in Progress) reviews with the Fixed Assets team and process asset capitalization upon project close-out

Contracts & Procurement Administration

  • Review project contracts, statements of work, and amendments to assess financial requirements and identify contractual risk prior to execution

  • Process and track contractor and consultant change orders; maintain PO commitments and contract records in Oracle ERP

  • Submit, track, and maintain purchase orders in coordination with the Procurement team

  • Review and approve contractor and supplier invoices in coordination with Project Managers to ensure accuracy and budget alignment

  • Provide financial and risk input on new contracts and statements of work developed by Project Managers and Legal

Risk & Compliance

  • Manage lien waiver compliance across all active projects

  • Ensure contractor and vendor insurance certificates are current and meet contract requirements at all times

  • Ensure contract execution and payment processes comply with internal controls, segregation of duties requirements, and applicable accounting standards

  • Provide audit support including documentation gathering, audit trail maintenance, and response to auditor inquiries

  • Ensure project close-out procedures and all financial documentation are complete and properly archived

Cross-Functional Coordination

  • Serve as the primary liaison between Procurement, Legal, Finance, and Project Management teams on all contract and cost-related matters

  • Coordinate with Project Managers following OAC (Owner-Architect-Contractor) meetings to capture and process cost and contract impacts from project progress updates

  • Support the capital process team on project funding, approvals, and reporting requirements

  • Minimum 5+ years of experience in construction contracts management, construction accounting, or a related owner-side role

  • Proficient in Oracle ERP or a comparable enterprise financial system

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel for financial modeling and reporting

  • Solid understanding of construction cost accounting principles including job costing, cash flow forecasting, accruals, and CIP

  • Experience managing lien waivers, insurance compliance, and contractor payment processes

  • Strong working knowledge of purchase order and change order administration

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; proven ability to work across Finance, Legal, Procurement, and Construction teams

  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment

Preferred

  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Accounting, Finance, or a related field

  • Experience in an owner-side corporate real estate, capital projects environment or contractor-side contract management.

  • Familiarity with Procore or a comparable construction project management platform

  • Experience supporting financial processes in a publicly traded company
