Multi-Craft Maintenance Technician

Description:

The Multi-Craft Maintenance Technician will provide maintenance support to Operations and lead preventive maintenance work. Demonstrates willingness and ability to act promptly to meet mill needs in an environment where safety is always the lead consideration before performing any task.

The Grayling OSB Mastery System has a pay range of $21.48 to $40.03 per hour, providing employees with an opportunity to grow their earning potential as they develop and master additional skills and responsibilities.

Key Functions:

• The on shift Multi-Craft Maintenance Technician is a key member of the Grayling OSB team and works in a team environment to manage the mill maintenance systems, specific area projects, process improvements and equipment operation.
• This position is able to fully cross train in all areas of maintenance which includes but is not limited to, mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic for both troubleshooting and preventive maintenance.
• Attend training seminars both onsite and offsite, as required.
• Utilize computerized maintenance systems.
• Have the ability to demonstrate systemic troubleshooting decision making.
• Demonstrate dedication and self-motivation as an individual who can actively participate in meetings, team feedback, team building, and performance reviews.

Qualifications:

Requirements:

• All applicants must have a high school diploma or GED
• The successful candidate will have a personal and total commitment to observe all safety rules and regulations.
• A minimum of 2 years industrial maintenance millwright experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to work rotating shifts.
• Must be proficient in 2-3 areas including electricity, electronics, PLC, logic, millwrighting, power transmission, welding, and hydraulics.
• Must read and understand blueprints and mechanical drawings.
• Ability to use maintenance tools.
• Must be able to demonstrate good communications skills and be team oriented.

Preferred experience:

• Electrical skills are a plus
• Associates degree
• Good working knowledge of basic industrial electricity issues
• Commitment to follow all unit electrical / maintenance practices
• Ability to read electrical schematics preferred.
• Strong computer skills and fluency with standard Microsoft office products
• Able to work with computerized maintenance systems for processes, stores, work orders, etc
