Position Purpose:We value the safety of our associates! The Building Maintenance keeps our associates safe by maintaining all equipment inside the warehouses/buildings and ensuring it meets industry standards and operates efficiently according to its specific tasks.Job Description:The Building Maintenance Worker position will perform the following duties:- Assists in the proper upkeep and preventative maintenance of all buildings, materials and systems at the distribution plant/designated building.
- Tests emergency generator.
- Records data from main electrical panels.
- Inspects various equipment and building areas, including, but not limited to, air compressors, roof and roof-mounted equipment and sprinkler systems; record data from inspections.
- Tests sprinkler system’s water flow, tamper switches and sprinkler system alarms.
- Tests fire pump and alarm.
- Inspects all equipment and repair or replace as necessary to avoid down time.
- Inspects, lubricates and cleans condensers and evaporators.
- Performs annual inspections on refrigeration compressors, including change oil and filter, disassemble compressor for internal inspection and align mechanical couplings.
- Inspects and lubricates freezer and cooler doors and perform needed repairs; maintain inventory of repair parts.
- Designs and constructs carpentry items requested by other departments.
Responsibilities may include, but not limited to:- Obtains work schedule and daily production paperwork and prepare for operations. Performs daily safety checks.
- Performs maintenance, repairs, and installations on various equipment within guidelines of processes and standards.
- Maintains, replaces, builds, adjusts, and modifies the facilities, buildings, and the grounds according to a set schedule and in emergency and non-emergency situations.
- Performs general housekeeping duties and keep maintenance area orderly and clean as required. At the end of the shift secure all equipment and complete all necessary reports and paperwork.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
