Tele Consult-Liaison Psychiatrist
Location: Tennessee, Remote
Full-time, Weekend availability
POSITION OVERVIEW:
We are seeking a compassionate and skilled Consult Liaison Psychiatrist (MD/DO) to provide telehealth psychiatric care for patients of all ages in Tennessee. This role offers a flexible schedule and is ideal for a provider interested in providing consult liaison services for a hospital setting. This role supports ED and inpatient teams by delivering timely psychiatric assessments, treatment recommendations, and care coordination.
This Consult-Liaison Psychiatrist role is currently classified as a 1099 contractor position with a pay per patient model , but IPC is open to discussion of other contract models. Rates are currently set at $170 per initial consultation and $60 per follow-up.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Perform psychiatric initial evaluations and followup assessments for ED and inpatient consults.
- Provide consult liaison services to support staff and ensure timely psychiatric interventions.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary support teams to deliver coordinated, high-quality care.
- Maintain accurate, thorough, and timely documentation in line with clinical and regulatory requirements.
- Apply a patient-centered approach to care, tailoring treatment plans to meet individual needs and preferences.
- Providers cover 6 hour or 12 hour shifts Monday- Friday or Saturday and Sunday.
- Provide consistent weekend coverage (minimum two weekends/month).
- Maintain reliability with assigned shifts and consult volumes.
QUALIFICATIONS
- MD or DO with Board Certification or Board Eligibility in Psychiatry.
- Active, unrestricted medical license in Tennessee preferred (not required).
- Active DEA registration or eligibility to obtain one.
- Experience with telepsychiatry and managing diverse, multi-age patient populations is highly preferred.
- Must be able to work remotely; candidates can reside anywhere in the U.S. (Tennessee licensure preferred).
