Full job description
The Shop Coordinator position will support our Rotating Equipment Repair business. This position will report to the Operations Manager, and work together with the Shop Foreman and other Inside Shop support personnel. This position will include the following responsibilities:
Responsibilities:
1. Process all repair orders in Company ERP
2. Put together job materials/drawings/parts lists/etc needed for each job
3. Work with shop foreman in making sure shop technicians have what they needed to efficiently perform the repairs
4. Estimate pricing for repair orders, maintaining company-defined margin goals. Review with management.
5. Prepare detailed repair quotes summarizing job workscope and parts needed. Review w/ shop personnel and management
6. Work with suppliers to gather pricing on repair materials
7. Order all materials needed and outlined in job workscope
8. Communicate with outside service suppliers when outsourcing repair activities
9. Assist Shop support/draftsman in Prepare end-of-job Repair Reports for customers, when needed
10. Assist management in associate development/training in relation to shop documentation best practices
11. Expedite as needed to improve overall customer ontime delivery
12. Assist with other job management functions as needed
Qualifications:
1. Associates Degree in mechanical field is preferred, or strong technical knowledge
2. Ability to read, interpret and understand technical drawings, geometric dimensions, tolerances and quality specifications.
3. Familiarity with machining, welding and general shop processes
4. Ability to work directly with shop employees, management and other support staff
5. Good written and verbal communication skills
6. Ability to multi-task and rearrange priorities to meet deadlines
7. Self-motivated and highly organized
