Job Summary
The Testing Support Specialist collaborates with Autonomy and Systems Engineering teams to understand and support validation needs in a dynamic development environment. As the primary contact for test support and data analysis within the Testing and Validation group, responsibilities include, analyzing drive data, and documenting issues through trouble tickets. The position requires testing new routes to evaluate autonomy performance, reviewing and tagging test vehicle data logs, and capturing video documentation. Additionally, the role involves supporting the Testing of Driver Out, developing best practices, and providing insights for product improvements based on thorough analysis of test data.
Essential Responsibilities
- Work with Autonomy and Systems Engineering engineers and designers to fully understand validation needs in order to provide testing support in a fast-moving development environment
- Act as point of contact for test support and data analysis for May’s Testing and Validation group
- Analyze drive data and notate trouble tickets
- Test new routes for autonomy performance
- Analysis of test vehicle data logs including video capture review, tagging attributes in Jira and documentation
- Support Testing of Driver Out document drive performance with video capture and annotation, develop best practices and analyze test data to develop insights for product usage and improvements.
- Verify functionality of product at May commercial sites
- Other duties as assigned
Skills and Abilities
Success in this role typically requires the following competencies:
- Detail oriented
- Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
- Ability to track multiple responsibilities at the same time
- Empathy to understand the customer of our products and services
- Troubleshooting of basic technical issues
- Familiarity with Linux Ubuntu is a plus
Qualifications and Experience
Candidates most successful in this role typically hold the following qualifications or comparable knowledge or experience:
- Bachelor's degree or related experience
- Experience in a software support roles a plus
- Valid driver’s license and clear driving record
Physical Requirements
- Standard office working conditions which includes but is not limited to:
- Prolonged sitting
- Prolonged standing
- Prolonged computer use
- Able to safely operate test vehicles for extended periods
- Travel required? - Moderate: 11%-25%
