Full job description
Senior Project Scheduler
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Scheduler to support complex electrical, industrial, and mission-critical construction projects. This individual will develop, maintain, and analyze detailed project schedules; collaborate with project, field, and general contractor teams; and provide clear reporting, forecasting, and schedule-risk mitigation throughout the project lifecycle.
The ideal candidate brings expert Primavera P6 capability, strong experience with resource-loaded scheduling and earned value, and the ability to translate field progress into accurate master-schedule updates, look-ahead plans, and recovery strategies.
Essential Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain comprehensive project schedules using Primavera P6 and other planning and scheduling tools.
- Create and manage work breakdown structures, activity logic, relationships, constraints, milestones, and critical-path schedules.
- Build resource- and cost-loaded schedules incorporating labor, equipment, and material requirements to support forecasting and earned value reporting.
- Perform critical path, schedule-risk, variance, and trend analyses; identify potential impacts and recommend mitigation or recovery plans.
- Evaluate actual project progress and prepare timely schedule updates for internal leadership, project teams, and external stakeholders.
- Coordinate with general contractors, owners, field leaders, project managers, and trade partners to align internal master schedules with external reporting requirements.
- Prepare schedule narratives, dashboards, progress reports, variance reports, and executive-level status updates.
- Lead or support forensic schedule analysis, including delay analysis, time-impact analysis, root-cause review, and documentation for claims or dispute-resolution efforts.
- Develop and refine short-interval plans, look-ahead schedules, and task-specific micro schedules in partnership with field leadership.
- Participate in recurring schedule-update meetings with general contractors and key project stakeholders.
- Export, import, and reconcile schedule data between Primavera P6, Smartsheet, and other project-planning platforms.
- Review schedule submissions for quality, accuracy, completeness, contractual compliance, and alignment with project requirements.
- Support project managers in developing short-term execution schedules and assessing their impact on the overall master schedule.
- Compare prior and current schedule updates to identify logic changes, activity shifts, milestone movement, schedule compression, and emerging risks.
- Contribute to scheduling standards, reporting processes, continuous improvement initiatives, and mentoring of junior scheduling personnel as needed.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
- Eight or more years of project scheduling experience supporting electrical, industrial, commercial, or mission-critical construction projects.
- Expert-level proficiency with Primavera P6.
- Demonstrated experience developing resource-loaded and cost-loaded schedules.
- Experience with earned value management, schedule forecasting, critical-path analysis, and forensic schedule analysis.
- Familiarity with Lean Construction planning practices, including Last Planner System and Pull Planning.
- Strong Microsoft Office skills, especially Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Strong communication, organization, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively with project management, field supervision, general contractors, owners, and cross-functional internal teams.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience supporting on-site mission-critical, data center, industrial, or other highly complex construction projects.
- Electrical construction background or direct experience scheduling electrical scopes of work.
- Experience with Smartsheet, Touchplan, or comparable construction planning and collaboration software.
- Knowledge of AACE and PMI scheduling standards and best practices.
- Familiarity with project contracts, delay documentation, claims support, and dispute-resolution processes.
- Ability to mentor junior schedulers and help implement scheduling best practices across multiple projects.
Benefits
- Medical and dental coverage.
- 401(k) retirement plan with company matching.
- Vision coverage.
- Short- and long-term disability insurance.

- Flexible spending accounts.
