Summary
Manages multiple large projects simultaneously that could include medical equipment specification gathering, ordering, and installation over several sites. Provides advanced levels of equipment and/or departmental service and support and performs preventive maintenance, quality assurance inspections, and installation.

Job Duties
  • Repairs, installs, inspects, troubleshoots, and calibrates equipment.
  • Procures best value products, labor, and parts sources in order to minimize the total cost of service to the organization.
  • Completes the preventive maintenance (PM) workload to achieve a consistently high level of PM compliance over time (95% or greater).
  • Prioritizes scheduled maintenance in accordance with medical equipment maintenance policy.
  • Executes professional-level inventory assessments/audits and makes recommendations for specialty equipment purchases.
  • Participates in the continuous performance improvement initiatives in regards to medical equipment.
  • Oversees the work of external contractors/vendors engaged in providing services for specialized equipment.
  • Performs repairs on defective or malfunctioning equipment.
  • Reviews, modifies, develops, and implements written preventive maintenance and quality assurance testing procedures.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Associate’s Degree Electronics or Biomedical Engineering.
  • 5 years Progressive experience in performing direct component level repair and maintenance on both general and model-specific equipment in the medical imaging field.
  • Ability and willingness to travel to remote hospital sites and to periodically conform to a flexible work schedule on an as needed basis.
  • Knowledge of state-of-the-art electronic equipment, quality assurance procedures, and preventive maintenance procedures.
  • Knowledge of advanced troubleshooting techniques.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Specialized Diploma Attendance at five or more equipment-specific training courses related to the equipment specific specialty area of expertise (extensive hands on experience may be considered equivalent to specific training courses).
  • 7 years Progressive experience in performing direct component level repair and maintenance on both general and model-specific equipment in the medical imaging field.
  • CRES - Certified Radiology Equipment Specialist - Association for the Advancement of Medical Instrumentation and
  • DL - Driver's License_PA - State of Pennsylvania Upon Hire

Additional Qualifications

    Physical Demands
    Lift and carry 25 lbs. frequent sitting/standing, frequent keyboard use, *patient care providers may be required to perform activities specific to their role including kneeling, bending, squatting and performing CPR.
