We are seeking an experienced Sous Chef to lead the culinary operations of a successful, independently owned, high-volume restaurant known for its scratch-made, European-inspired cuisine. Responsibilities
- Lead and inspire all back-of-house operations, fostering a positive, accountable, and high-performing kitchen culture.
- Support the Execuitve Chef with back of house responsibilities
- Oversee the preparation and execution of a scratch-made, European-focused menu while maintaining exceptional food quality and consistency.
- Develop seasonal features and daily specials that complement the restaurant's concept and maximize product utilization.
- Assist in food purchasing, vendor relationships, and inventory control to ensure proper stock levels and cost efficiency.
- Recruit, train, mentor, and develop kitchen staff while maintaining high standards of performance.
- Ensure compliance with all food safety, sanitation, and health department regulations.
- Collaborate with ownership to enhance menu offerings and continually elevate the guest experience.
- Maintain equipment, organization, and cleanliness throughout all kitchen operations.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of Sous Chef experience in a high-volume $3 million+, scratch kitchen.
- Strong background in European cuisine and scratch cooking techniques.
- Proven leadership experience managing and developing large back-of-house teams.
- Expertise in food purchasing, inventory management, scheduling, and controlling food and labor costs.
- Experience creating seasonal menus and chef specials.
- Strong financial acumen with a solid understanding of P&L management.
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- ServSafe Manager Certification (or ability to obtain).
